The seventh edition of the FIFA Annual Football Law Conference will be held on 27 and 28 February 2025 in Miami, USA, in collaboration with Concacaf and with the support of the University of Miami School of Law.

As part of the first of the Strategic Objectives for World Football: 2023-2027 (reviewing FIFA’s Statutes and improving its regulations), the aim is to ensure that stakeholders have direct access to information on the legal decision-making processes and their outcomes.

Since 2019, FIFA has organised this conference, at which it shares its regulatory work, case law and key decisions of its decision-making and judicial bodies, as well as the most important proceedings of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) resulting from FIFA decisions, with football legal stakeholders.

Over the two days at the University of Miami School of Law, FIFA will present and discuss the following important topics, regulatory changes and legal decisions for 2024:

FIFA Regulations on Bridge Transfers

Correlations in the FIFA Transfer Matching System

Multi-Club Ownership Models

Party Laws in CAS Proceedings

CAS Football Cases

Football and the Court of Justice of the European Union: Cases and Repercussions

Transfer Contract Clauses

In addition to these topics, cases from specific leagues and competitions will be analysed, such as the functioning of the Bundesliga’s 50+1 rule or the Major League Soccer model and legal framework. The FIFA World Cup™, CONMEBOL’s Copa América and UEFA EURO™ will also be studied in depth from an academic perspective. Football lawyers, key FIFA staff and renowned experts will present the various topics, offering the latest developments and best practices.
